El Ahuehuete (<em>Taxodium huegelii<\/em>)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Es una con\u00edfera, de la misma familia que los cipreses y las sequoias. Es, por tanto, de hoja perenne, dando una inmensa sombra durante todo el a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es originaria de M\u00e9jico, donde crece sobre todo cerca de los r\u00edos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">? \u00bfCu\u00e1ndo se plant\u00f3? Hace casi 400 a\u00f1os&#8230;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>El <a href=\"https:\/\/www.madridsensations.com\/es\/parque-del-retiro\/\">Parque del Retiro<\/a> fue originalmente parte de los jardines del Palacio del Buen Retiro. Un palacio encargado por Felipe IV en el siglo XVII. Es en ese momento que se plantan especies vegetales originarias, no solamente de la pen\u00ednsula ib\u00e9rica, sino de otros territorios del Imperio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al Virreinato de Nueva Espa\u00f1a, M\u00e9jico, se mandan expediciones y se traen plantas y semillas. Una de ellas&#8230; nuestro hoy ilustre \u00e1rbol centenario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2694\ufe0f Superviviente de la Guerra de la Independencia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>En 1808, tras las abdicaciones forzosas de Carlos IV y Fernando VII, Napole\u00f3n entrega la corona de Espa\u00f1a a Jos\u00e9 Bonaparte. Se inicia entonces la Guerra de la Independencia Espa\u00f1ola, que durar\u00e1 6 a\u00f1os. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durante parte de este tiempo, los Jardines del Buen Retiro fueron utilizados como campos de batalla y aqu\u00ed los franceses construyeron una inmensa fortificaci\u00f3n. Todos sus \u00e1rboles fueron talados para la construcci\u00f3n, para la visibilidad, y para hacer fuegos con que calentar a las tropas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bfTodos los \u00e1rboles talados? No, todos no.
