These gardens, on the north side of the Palace, occupy the land that for years were the stables of the palace. Carlos III ordered the construction to his architect Francisco Sabatini and thus the name of the gardens and the fact that a sculpture of the King presides the entrance to the garden.
The stables were located here until, in the 30s, it was decided to create a garden, the horses currently used by the Royal Guard are brought here daily from El Pardo.
The vegetation that we can enjoy here are magnolias, cypress, maples, cedars, boxwood, roses … Gardeners take care of their geometric shapes and symmetries, a neoclassical style that fit perfectly with the style of the Palace.
The lower terrace has a large rectangular pond, like a mirror, which is surrounded by some of the sculptures of the Spanish kings that were created for the Palace.
